In 2025, all our leavers gained a place into their senior schools, with glowing reports of how the children presented themselves during their interviews. As well as achieving many offers, well over 100, the pupils also gained 37 scholarships, more than 20 of which being academic awards but also including sport, drama, art and music scholarships.  This is a wonderful achievement, testament to the high quality education provided at HSA which has prepared them for this point.

Success can not only be defined by pupils gaining top grades or scholarships, it is also about the value added that a school provides.  At Halstead St Andrew’s we take great pride in supporting a pupil to achieve beyond their expectations.  This is something we do exceptionally well and are very proud of all the pupils’ achievements.

We understand the importance of choosing the right school for your child when they leave us at Year 8 and are committed to supporting parents on this journey with meetings in Year 5 and Year 6, ensuring each pupil is entered into senior school assessments that are right for that pupil.

During the meetings with the senior teams, we will investigate all the options open to your child and make recommendations based on academic potential, social dynamics and your child’s interests.  The aim is to make what is a highly daunting and pressured process as easy as possible for parents.

At Key Stage 2, 96% of HSA pupils at the end of Year 6* met the standards, working in depth and working in greater depth in English & Maths, compared with 63% Year 6 pupils in state schools.
